Parks and Rec Project Gallery

We take great pride in all of the projects we do and want to ensure the community enjoys the

results. Below you can find some behind the scenes photos of what we do!

Courthouse Christmas 2021

Every year the Parks and Rec department decorates the Putnam County Courthouse for the Christmas season. We start months before the holiday season planning themes, building displays, and even picking out the real (and huge!) Christmas tree that sets on the south side of the courthouse. In the gallery below you can see photos of all the displays and other decorations at the courthouse.

Red, White, and BOOM 2021

Every year Putnam County and the City of Cookeville partner together and work with many other sponsors to put on a huge fireworks show on the fourth of July. This event is complete with food vendors, concerts, contests and community activities. Parks and Rec helps park cars, set up stages and lights, and maintain the fairgrounds so it is in tip top shape for this awesome event every year!

Hope Park Construction

Hope Park is a memorial park for the victims of the storms that impacted our community in March 2020. This park was possible thanks in part to the Lowe’s 100 Hometowns grant. You can see completed photos of Hope Park on the facilities page.

Baxter Amphitheatre Construction

The Parks and Recreation staff constructed this amphitheatre in Baxter in 2019. This area serves as a multifunctional location for the community to use and spend time together.

Courthouse Christmas 2020

Every year the Parks and Rec department decorate the Putnam County Courthouse for the Christmas season. Take a look at this gallery for some behind the scene photos of what goes into decorating a live 25 foot Christmas tree!
