Parks and Rec Community Activities

Here you can find the activities we offer in and around the Cookeville Community Center

Although we are not currently offering adult or youth recreational leagues, there are still activities

at the Cookeville Community Center. Explore our indoor and outdoor activities below!

Community Bingo

Community Bingo is back! Join us on Tuesday’s from 11am-1pm at the Cookeville Community Center for a morning of fun! This activity is open to any and all community members. There is no charge to play bingo but if you bring $5 you will be provided with a yummy pizza lunch and a drink!

Cookeville Community Center Tennis & Pickleball Courts

The Cookeville Community Center has 6 lighted outdoor tennis courts with a covered pavillion, picnic tables, and viewing bleachers. The back 3 tennis courts also have pickleball lines in opposing colors. Net adjusters for pickleball and pole mounted scorekeeper signs are available in the Parks and Rec office upon requests. The tennis courts are home to multiple middle school and high school tennis teams. Each month a new schedule is posted on the bulletin board outside the court gates. The schedule for the current and next month can also be viewed at the bottom of this page to ensure that our community tennis enthusiasts can plan their court usage around school practices and matches. Parks and Rec does not currently offer any tennis lessons or leagues.

Ping Pong / Table Tennis

Two ping pong tables are set up in the fitness room here at the Cookeville Community Center. Ping pong is hosted Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9am – 11am. The cost is $1 per person and ping pong paddles and balls are not provided.

Open Walking

The auditorium in the Cookeville Community Center is a great place to walk if you enjoy walking but the outdoor weather may not be suitable. Open walking is scheduled for 8am – 11am Monday through Friday but we allow walking anytime the building is open and the auditorium is not occupied. Walking in the auditorium is free and a great option for those looking for a flat and smooth walking surface.

Open Volleyball

The Cookeville Community Center is currently NOT hosting open volleyball during the week but hopefully the activity will resume soon. Click the photo below to be rerouted to our Facebook page where you can see updates about open volleyball.

Outdoor Volleyball & Basketball

Although the outdoor sand volleyball court is currently undergoing some updates, the outdoor basketball court is free to use any time. There are no outdoor lights on these courts but they are partially lighted from the tennis court lights. The outdoor pavillion is close by the volleyball and basketball court for easy access to a rest area with shade, picnic tables, and a bbq grill!
