Virtual Gingerbread House Contest Rules

 

  1. All entries must submit an email to gingerbread@putnamcountytn.gov. that includes the following information: Name, Address, Cell Phone, Social Media Handles, and Photos.
  2. All entries  should also be uploaded through Facebook and/or Instagram.
  3. All photos must be unedited, no filters or any photoshop features done to the photos.
  4. Submissions need to be in line with the theme for this year. The theme for this year is Hometown Heroes.
  5. There is no entry fee. This is a free program brought to you by Putnam County Parks and Recreation.
  6. Officials posts need to tag the Putnam County Parks and Rec social media handles.

  7. Post will need to include the following hashtags
    1. #pcprgingerbreadcontest
    2. #pcpr
  8. Judging will be conducted in two rounds
    1. Round 1- All submissions will be filtered down to the Top 6 by a selected panel of judges from the community to move on to the final round. The Top 6 will need to be dropped off to the Cookeville Community Center. Deadline to submit December 6 at 12pm.
    2. Round 2-The Parks and Recreation Department will take photos and post the Top 6 on both social media accounts. Judging will be based on the most likes on the post from both social media platforms. The winner will be announced on December 11.
  9. Gingerbread structures may be houses, fire stations, police stations, etc. to be compliant with the theme of Hometown Heroes.
  10. Gingerbread structures must be constructed mainly of gingerbread and icing. Styrofoam and other support materials are not permitted.
  11. Gingerbread kits will be allowed, however, an emphasis will be placed on decorations and adherence to the theme.
  12. All components of the display, except for the base, must be made of edible materials.
  13. Edible materials include candy, nuts, cereal, cookies, crackers, pasta, and other food items that do not include wrappers or sticks.
  14. Wrappers should be removed from candy and other decorations.
  15. Entries should be mounted on a plywood base( 1/2” or ¾”). Entries selected for the Top 6 can be dropped off at the Putnam County Parks and Recreation Office located in the Cookeville Community Center, 240 Carlen Drive, Cookeville, TN December 7. The Top 6 will be notified the morning of December 7.
  16. Entries must fit on an 18″ x 18″ base and should not be taller than 24″. No decorations should be placed on the sides of the base.
  17. Attach a 3″x 5″ card with the entrant’s name, address, telephone number and E-mail address on the underside of the base.
